Not a slots fan? Tired of poker? Perhaps blackjack is more your game. This is a game with a long, rich history. We love the idea of more people wanting to play blackjack. You can make good money online playing blackjack if you’re willing to think about a few things, but you’re going to have to make absolutely sure that you’re ready to play hard in order to win big.
There are five quick tips that we’d like to share with you to help you get the winnings you deserve. Check them out below.
1. Manage Your Bankroll Carefully
Never bring more to the table than you can comfortably afford. It sounds like common sense, but it’s easy to get caught up in the thrill of gambling. When you think that just a little bit more money will get you back in the black, you tend to blow through your bankroll fast. That’s the wrong way to take things, if you ask us. This is real money blackjack, and that means that you are better off going slowly than trying to reach for high stakes blackjack. Maybe you’re ready for that, but you probably aren’t. And don’t think that’s a value judgment on your gambling ability at all. It’s better to be honest about your skills than to go through money that you didn’t intend.
2. Pick Blackjack Tables Wisely
If you put any advance thinking into your blackjack tables, make sure that you take this step: the max bet on the table should be no more than 5% of your total bankroll. So if you have $1000, you should only have a max bet of $50. Easy math, right? Absolutely!
3. Keep Basic Strategy in Mind
If you don’t know textbook blackjack theory and basic strategy, then you need to go back and look it up. This will help you reduce the house edge. Player errors increase the house edge, which in turn eats through your bankroll. Ouch!
4. Avoid Insurance & Surrender
Insurance is a losing position, but it’s one that a lot of new players get sucked into. Unless you have the ability to magically count cards online, insurance is something that’s going to give you terrible odds and cause you to put money into the wrong things.
5. Know When to Split!
Splitting is something that trips new blackjack players up all of the time. Be sure that you’re only going for the split if you have a pair of aces, or a pair of eights. Avoid this if you have face cards, or tens.
Overall, we’re pretty sure that we have you covered. But we’re always playing more blackjack and recording our observations.
